Official Oakland County criminal-record questions usually belong with the office that created or maintains the file. The routes below identify the court clerk, sheriff's counter, police agency, or Michigan State Police channel that handles each record type. This private reference site cannot accept or fulfill a government records request.

This Is Not a Government Office. This is a private reference resource. We cannot retrieve or amend records, perform official checks, or receive Michigan set-aside filings. Those actions must go through the responsible government office.

Need an Official Record?

Use the custodian that matches the Oakland County record:

  • Police reports and incident records: contact the agency that wrote the report
  • Arrest, jail, and OCSO booking records: call the Oakland County Sheriff's Office Records Unit at 248-858-5011
  • Court case files: use Oakland County criminal court cases or the clerk for the court that heard the matter
  • Michigan criminal history and ICHAT: contact Michigan State Police, Criminal Justice Information Center
  • Set-aside applications: file with the court that entered the conviction under its current instructions
  • Official state checks: use Michigan State Police ICHAT or an authorized fingerprint route, as the purpose requires

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office Records Unit is at 1201 N. Telegraph Road, on the east side of the Main Jail, Pontiac, MI 48341. Call 248-858-5011 or email ocsorecords@oakgov.com. The counter is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; arrive at least 30 minutes before closing.

Sixth Circuit felony files are held by the Oakland County Clerk/Register of Deeds Legal Records Division, 1200 N. Telegraph Road, Department 413, Pontiac, MI 48341. Call 248-858-0582 or email clerklegal@oakgov.com. Public hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. District-court files remain with the district court that handled the case.
